Weddings

It is the intensely-held belief of the owners of Beloftebos, Andries and Coia, as has been the case for the overwhelming majority of Christians for the past 2000 years, that fundamental to a healthy society is the sacrament of marriage as ordained in Genesis 2 and confirmed by Jesus Christ in Matthew 19. This sacrament of Christian marriage is to be clearly distinguished from the state sponsored civil contract presided over by a “marriage officer”, appointed by the state, that two people can choose to enter into as part of their marriage decision.

Beloftebos is available for the hosting and celebration of the sacrament of Christian marriage. If the couple choose to have it, the state sponsored civil contract must be concluded off site.

In line with their commitment to strong and healthy Christian marriages, Andries and Coia have asked Keith and Ros Matthee to provide marriage preparation for any couple wanting to make use of Beloftebos to celebrate their vows to one another before Jesus Christ. (Keith and Ros have been married for 45 years and over these years have done extensive marriage counselling, marriage enrichment and marriage preparation work with couples. They also have written a book together about marriage which they will use in their marriage preparation work – it is available at no cost on request.)

Beloftebos will only be available to a couple who either have done the course or have satisfied Keith that they will do an appropriate course with someone likewise committed to Christian marriage as set out in Genesis 2 and confirmed by Jesus Christ in Matthew 19.

Once Keith has satisfied himself that the couple are committed to such a course, Andries and Coia will become involved intimately in the practical arrangements of all the marriage celebrations held at Beloftebos to help ensure that they be joyous celebrations and honouring of their Lord and His teaching on the sacrament of marriage.
