On a rainy autumn day in 2005, two people stood under some old oaks in the Overberg and made a promise to one another. It was a commitment to love and care for one another. To go where the other goes! To stay where the other stays! With God as their witness, they asked Him to help them keep that promise.

They then celebrated with 300 guests under those oaks until the stars were shining bright and the fires burnt high.

Beloftebos was born.

Since that day, more than 240 couples have stood under the same trees on the farm near Stanford and made their vows.

It is a working farm where the fifth, sixth and seventh generations of De Villiers’ live and farm with sheep, beef cattle and flowers. We export quality fynbos, and there is  a large organic vegetable garden. From there the sumptuous cuisine created by Chef Corneli de Villiers attracts attention and compliments worldwide.

Beloftebos is the ideal destination wedding venue. Just two hours from Cape Town, it is just far enough to feel that you deserve the coffee stop at Peregrine farm stall near Elgin and that you have escaped the city rush.

Between 30 - 40 guests can be accommodated in our cottages.

For a weekend wedding, there are ample activities and good restaurants in the area. Guests can also stay at the many guest farms, lodges and cottages that range from very basic to five-star status – both in Stanford village (just 15 minutes away) and closer.

For the adventurous at heart, there are more than 30km of mountain bike trails on the farm. The trails have been built by owner and endurance veteran Andries and business partner Dirk de Vynck from Country Bike Tours and Trials. A big cat sanctuary is only 10minutes from Beloftebos, shark cage diving 30 minutes and zip-lining an hour away, to add to the adrenalin menu.

For the more gentle souls, there is birdwatching; whale watching at Walkerbay and a river cruise down the Klein River in Stanford.

So why choose Beloftebos?
